서소영 작가는 90년대 애니메이션에서 출발한 이미지를 바탕으로 구상적 요소를 추상적으로 번역하는 회화 작업을 전개한다. 아크릴 페인팅과 그래픽 등의 매체를 활용하고, 콜라주 방식을 통해 연관되지 않은 공간과 요소가 만들어내는 긴장과 분위기에 주목하며 꿈과 무의식에 내재한 세계를 탐구하고 있다.
Seo Soyoung develops her painting practice by abstractly translating figurative elements based on imagery originating from 1990s animation. Utilizing media such as acrylic painting and graphics, she employs collage techniques to focus on the tension and atmosphere created by unrelated spaces and elements, exploring worlds inherent in dreams and the unconscious.
