강지

Artist representation by URBK LAB

Artist Kangzi captures fleeting moments in urban daily life through her paintings. She believes stories lie hidden even within ordinary scenes like lights beyond windows, the walls of old buildings, or the shadows of people walking down the street. Thus, her work focuses less on extraordinary events and more on expressing the warmth and tranquility felt within familiar scenes. The cityscape is constantly changing, yet the emotions within it repeat and persist. The artist hopes to depict the preciousness of ‘here and now’ within that repetition. She says that if viewers can pause briefly before her paintings and recall their own memories and emotions, that is her greatest pleasure.
