호정

Artist representation by URBK LAB

Artist Hojung’s work is a ‘poem’ of wind written in ‘color,’ an ‘impression’ of wind intangible yet phenomenal, infinitely transformative yet eternal. Through an accidental encounter with ‘nature,’ which willingly celebrates its existence, the artist focuses on the similarities between the journey of wind and the journey of human life. Through an accidental encounter with ‘Nature’, which willingly praises its existence, the artist notes the similarities between the journey of wind and human life. Replacing the impressions of the wind with color, the artist fills and connects each piece of wind composed of hanji and oganja(nobang) layer by layer, crafting new landscapes. Through this process, the artist continues to contemplate the value of ‘life,’ the harmony between nature and human existence, and their symbiosis. The artist’s work is a ‘poem’ of the wind, tenderly singing of ‘life’ through ‘color’ while contemplating the cyclical time of existence marked by creation and destruction. It is also a painting that records the ‘color’ of our ‘fleeting moments’ those brilliant instants into ‘eternity’. Through the accumulation of time, the artist dreams of becoming ‘a gentle, tender warmth that comforts the era,’ willingly embracing ‘today’ where hope flows abundantly.
